Mick's Life in Photography
I remember the first camera I Held in my hands ... I don't
know what make or model it was, but the front folded down,
and the roll-film negatives it produced were huge [620, I've
since discovered]...
If memory serves me correctly, this may be the first photograph
I ever took ...

The next camera that made an impression on me also folded
down: it was my parents' circa 1959 Polaroid "800"
Land camera, complete with Wink Light and flash bulbs. Luckily,
in the early 70's, one could still obtain film for it. I took
my own high school yearbook photo with it.

I suppose I showed sufficient interest in the whole thing
that by 1976 (the peak of the waning glory days of the home
darkroom -- Camera Barn where are you?) I was given a spare
bedroom to convert into a permanent darkroom of my own. You'll
see some prints of those home-developed negatives here.
The phases of my interests in photography have been organized
into the subject areas below, and sometimes organized further
still. I've jotted down some musings or history in each section.
Enjoy.
